Who He Is
Dr. P.M. Kamal Kumar
MPT (Neuro) · CMPT · MIAP · Physical & Manual Therapist · Regd. No. L.20494
Dr. P.M. Kamal Kumar began his clinical career in 2003 after completing his undergraduate physiotherapy training at Meenakshi University in Chennai. Even in those early years, one thing set him apart — he refused to treat a symptom without first understanding its cause.
He completed his Master of Physiotherapy specialising in Neurology at Meenakshi University in 2009 — giving him deep expertise in how the nervous system affects pain, movement, and recovery. This became the foundation of everything he does.
Today, Dr. Kamal has treated thousands of patients with conditions ranging from slipped discs and arthritis to stroke. Many were told surgery or permanent medication was their only option. He showed them a different path.

Beyond the Degree
Advanced Training
2013 · K-Taping
Kinesiology Taping
Kinesiology taping — or K-Taping — is a specialised technique where elastic therapeutic tape is applied to the body to support muscles and joints while allowing full range of movement.
Unlike rigid bandaging, K-Tape works with the body. It reduces swelling, improves circulation, provides structural support, and accelerates recovery. Dr. Kamal uses K-Taping for sports injuries, post-surgical recovery, disc conditions, and muscular pain.
2015 · Osteopathy
Osteopathic Training
Osteopathic training gave Dr. Kamal a whole-body perspective on pain and dysfunction. While standard physiotherapy focuses on the specific injury site, osteopathy examines the entire musculoskeletal system — how tension in one part can create pain in a completely different part.
This allows Dr. Kamal to identify problems that standard assessments might miss, and to treat the body as a connected system rather than isolated parts.
“I spend time understanding why the pain is there before I decide how to treat it.”— Dr. P.M. Kamal Kumar
A New Chapter
Stroke Rehabilitation Unit
In recent years, Dr. Kamal has developed a dedicated stroke rehabilitation unit within the clinic — a personal commitment to stroke survivors who need more than standard care.
Stroke rehabilitation requires patience, expertise, and consistency. After a stroke, the brain needs to rebuild neural pathways through repetitive, structured, guided movement. Dr. Kamal works with each patient systematically — from basic movement through to functional tasks, balance, coordination, and independence.
He also works with family members, showing them how to support recovery at home between sessions. Recovery after stroke is a team effort, and Kamal Physio Care is committed to being a reliable partner in that journey.
